Ways to Influence the MIC-MSF via the Insurance Industry
The MIC-MSF has a monopoly in the United States and therefore it is extremely difficult to influence its practices and its curriculum. Rather than attempt a political effort to do so, some think that obtaining the assistance of the insurance industry is a way to have a loud enough voice to cause some changes to occur. Here we can discuss ways of educating that industry to gain that assistance. |

Despite evidence to the contrary, the MSF approach to rider training is not 'all there is' or even 'the last word'. Here we can focus our attention on one such alternative body of training knowledge - one that is rather more intelligent and well considered than MSF's curriculum. England is the genesis. |

Speed From Stopping Distance Calculator
Used to compute how fast a vehicle is traveling at the start of a known stopping distance. It assumes that all braking is done with a constant deceleration rate (such as would generally be the case if skidding). It also allows you to include PDR (Perception-Decision-Reaction) time, if any. |

This model will calculate the speed an object (such as a motorcyclist) is launch at (in other words, the motorcyclist's speed at time of impact) given you know how far it is thrown, the difference in height between launch point and impact point, and the launch angle. |

This model will calculate the lean angle of the CG of your bike given Speed and Radius. Given the width of your front tire it will also calculate the actual lean angle of the bike. Finally, it will calculate the maximum cornering speed that is possible with your bike. |

This simple model calculates your motorcycle speed given the rear tire radius, final gear ratio, and engine RPM. Note that though you have to input seven values with this model, if you merely combined this model with two others (Rear Wheel Radius, and Gearing) you wouldn't need to enter anything. |
